Problems are invitations for your best work
If problems are threatening to give you an ulcer, consider that these problems and your ability to solve them give you purpose. It’s also a lot more fun to solve problems than do the same old same old every day.
They didn’t make a movie about Apollo 12
As famously chronicled in the movie of the same name, the Apollo 13 mission might have ended in disaster, if it were not for the creative thinking that produced solutions to every problem. The space program of that era was hurling men and machines farther than ever before – the risks were always there.
Failure is not an option. This line was made up for the movie, but it neatly conveys the attitude of mission control. Ingenuity got the mission under way, and it would complete the mission.
However stressful that time was, you can be sure that the people who got the astronauts of Apollo 13 home safely remember that as the most exhilarating and rewarding work of their lives.
Abundance
Fear can keep you focusing on not losing, as opposed to gaining. Keep an abundance mindset. If you stare at your orange too long you might forget that you have an orchard in your backyard.
Progress needs people to be willing to venture into the unknown. If fear is shaping your decisions, then you are retreating.
