“What part of this product or service can be replaced with another?”

For example, can we replace a switch in a car with a function in the display screen? Or can we replace the switch with a voice command? What if was made of steel instead of wood? What if we put a camera on the back of the car instead of making the compromises necessary for an unobstructed rear view mirror?
